What is Magwa Volunteers?

A middle man between an indigenous community and the rest of the world. Tour operating company bringing travelers, backpackers, nature lovers and adventurers together with the indigenous people of the Gwexintaba village situated in Pondoland on the Wild Coast in Transkei, Eastern Cape (SA).

Achievements

18 months of pre-preparation to ensure the 1 day-2 day and 5 day excursions is the highest impact experience in Transkei, the jewel of South Africa.
Support from three of the internationally registered backpackers in Port St John’s as well as local up market guest houses.
Support of the Headman and Chief of the village
Community projects initiated with the support of the community

People sourced who are qualified to train: tour guides, abseiling staff, hiking guides, Permaculture farmers.
